‘I think children ask questions we stop asking’, said Charles Mackesy about his new book for all ages, and it is these universal questions that the author and illustrator explores in this wonderful book.

Each hand illustrated page is filled with recognisable universal truths spoken through his selected characters. A joy it is to turn the pages and read text produced by the human hand, observe gentle smudges of ink, a dog’s accidental paw print because these are imperfections that add charm, wit and warmth to the fable told here. Every illustration is set in nature, the landscape shapes the adventure making the ordinary and everyday exciting.

This is a beautiful meditative book that I would recommend.
